Gifted Equines Launch
From Grants and Fundraising to Equines and Specialists
Gifted Equines is the latest development in the Gifted world. Way back when we first discussed developing GiftedMatrix - the no-code cloud platform that all of our Gifted Solutions are built on - we felt flexibility was the key to the success of organisations of the future. At the time, we didn’t quite envisage the leap from Grants and Fundraising to Equines and Specialists, but here we are.
Designing Gifted Equines
Gifted Equines was designed with the same approach we always adopt when building new systems. Prioritising usability, flexibility and usefulness. If it doesn’t facilitate tangible gains in efficiency and effectiveness, it isn’t worth spending money on. Equines are unpredictable and unique, which posed a few new interesting challenges to the Gifted team. We had to look at creating a system that allowed for more flexibility than ever while still providing a coherent structure.
The backbone of the system is still rooted in process. There is a clear order to the rehabilitation pathway of an equine, even if that looks a little different from organisation to organisation. The random element comes in the form ‘Care Actions’. Care Actions in Gifted Equines are defined as ‘any action that needs to be taken in order to progress an equine towards its rehabilitation goal’. Whether it’s vaccinations, medications, dietary changes, assessments with specialists or anything else that you may need to do with an equine to get/keep it healthy, Care Actions are at the heart of the system.
Agility Meets Usability
Having something so fundamental to day to day operations be so difficult to predict lead to the creation of a task based system. The calendar views of tasks allow teams to be dynamic in their work - assigning, reassigning, repeating, rescheduling and completing tasks all in one place. Completing tasks prompts users to fill out the key information about what they have just done, which automatically updates the system and the equine in questions’ record. Users can also be notified when tasks are assigned to them and managers when they are completed.
The other key focus in designing Gifted Equines was usability. Users who are used to working outside and directly with animals don’t want a system that feels like it’s adding to their workload rather than reducing it. The system can be accessed securely from anywhere on any device and even allows for voice note data capture when typing isn’t an option. We’ve made sure that everything from data entry to historical medical records are easy to navigate and understand. Users of the system can reap the rewards of their data with prompts, trends and reminders that allow them to work more effectively.
Intuitive Cloud Technology For The Equine World
The end result is an intuitive cloud system that seamlessly deals with the nuances of daily equine care. It integrates the people and professionals involved in caring for horses and the needs of the horses themselves. Gifted Equines allows organisations to manage individual equines at a micro level as well as gain valuable insights from the bigger picture. Organisations using Gifted Equines can improve the efficiency at every level of their equine management process, ultimately leading to more effective care for their animals.
